R.A. "Poppy" Sanders is a metal craftman based in Huntsville, Texas. He began his career as a 14-year-old in a neighborhood welding shop, building a go-cart with a lawn mower motor, and then a bicycle with a lawn edger motor (and no brakes).

At the age of 18, he began working for an oil field tool company, and served a 14-year apprenticeship for all types of welding, fabricating, metallurgy, blueprints, and structural design.

Over the many years since, he has worked as a pipe fitter and welding teacher, and in welding and fabrication shops.

He has 45 years of experience in master metal fabrication and is certified as a first-class welder.
