Sword Swallower Edna Price swallowing neon Tube for Ripley’s Believe It or Not Odditorium at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1933.

Edna Price learned sword swallowing from her famous sword swallower uncle, Delno Fritz in 1920. In the late 1920s, Edna became one of the first female sword swallowers to swallow the dangerous neon tube. In 1933, she became one of the first sword swallowers to be featured by Ripley’s Believe It or Not at the Chicago World’s Fair of 1933. Edna continued sword swallowing until about 1939 when she retired.

Video provided by her nephew and used by courtesy of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
